This is Coniston Lake, in the lake District. A very beautiful location. This was the scene of Donald Campbell's attempt at the world water speed record in Jan 1967 in which he lost his life. As such, this is also the location for the film 'Across The Lake' which is about Donald's speed attempt that fateful winter. It Stars Anthony Hopkins as Donald Campbell. Although it was a movie made for TV, the story and the locations and the acting are first rate. It's a great piece of work.
